President… Trump?: The Donald Visits Charleston and Talks About a Possible Candidacy in 2016

Standing on the tarmac at the Atlantic Aviation Hangar of the Charleston International Airport last Sunday, two CisternYard staff members and myself awaited the arrival of a private jet containing one very wealthy, very opinionated man known as The Donald.

If you’re like me, you may be completely incompetent when it comes to knowing things about planes. “Boeing 757” originally sounded to me like it could have been a kind of assault rifle, but in the context of the email we received from Mr. Trump’s Director of Communication inviting us to “greet Mr. Trump at the airport and have a tour of his Boeing 757 before he made a special visit to The Citadel,” I was assured that it was, in fact, Mr. Donald Trump’s obscenely large private plane.

You might be wondering (much like we were), why would Donald Trump come to Charleston, SC? And why in the world would he invite CisternYard News aboard his private plane for a tour and press gathering? Well, as Mitt Romney once said, “If you want to take on America, you’re going to have to take on The Citadel as well.”

That’s right, folks, prepare your bumper stickers and campaign buttons because Mr. Trump may be running for president in the 2016 elections. Although his decision to run was not explicitly expressed in the interview, Trump did hint that his final decision would most likely be revealed this June–and he thinks he will “surprise some people” with what he decides
