Snap poll: Trump soars following speech to Congress
President Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night got positive marks in a CNN snap poll.
Fifty-seven percent of respondents said they had a "very positive" reaction to Trump's speech, 21 percent said they had a "somewhat positive reaction and 21 percent said they had a "negative" response.
Asked about Trump's policies, the same poll found that 69 percent of speech-watchers said the president's policies will move the country in the "right direction," while 26 percent said the opposite.
That represents an 11 percentage-point bump for Trump, as 58 percent respondents who answered the same question before the speech said his policies were moving the country in the "right direction."
