President Donald J. Trump Meets With House Speaker Mike Johnson to Discuss Election Integrity

April 12, 2024

Mar-a-Lago, FL — Today, President Donald J. Trump met with House Speaker Mike Johnson at Mar-a-Lago to discuss the House of Representatives’ role in ensuring a free and fair elections process.

Speaker Johnson agreed to hold a series of public committee hearings over the next two months which will provide Members the opportunity to fact-find in advance of potential legislation to further safeguard our elections from interference.

At a minimum, these televised committee hearings will provide Members and the American public an opportunity to hear sworn testimony and get clarity on the following important topics:

  • Mail-in voting processes and mail-ballot handling procedures across the country; and,

  • Voter registration list maintenance and how states will ensure proper adherence to the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, including preventing illegal immigrants and noncitizens from voting in the 2024 Presidential election; and,

  • General preparations for the 2024 Presidential election.

These hearings will provide much-needed insight into the administration of elections throughout the country and will provide an opportunity to fact-find on topics of critical concern to voters.

Truthfulness and transparency are critical for ensuring the public’s confidence in our elections and should be a bipartisan goal we all share.
